Can't remember if I received a free ARC or purchased this one, but I know I like the author's other work I've read, so either way this certainly didn't break my heart. Well worth the read, as the characters made each other crazy, feel loved, protective, horny, lol, and sexy. The emotional baggage overcome was completely believable, and the storyline falls right in line with the series. Another book I found hard to put down...
I'm truly sorry to say this about a book, it was completely boring. I do believe it has the makings to be a great book. It honestly reminded me of a story a high school student would write. Very mibbia writing. I have no idea why it got so many likes. I believe the author needs to read some other writings to maybe get a grasp of how the stories go before she attempts to write more. Truly sorry To say that maybe take some writing classes.
Cumbersome writing style, mostly narrative. Lots of explaining instead of weaving the story together. After reading 20%, I realized that I was just skimming. Boring dialog (when there is some). No real depth to the characters and so no real investment to keep reading.
A brave woman finds she pragnant and her that she an awakened gifted. Women capable of fighting angels and their dragons. She's assigned to Chicogo and she finds the dragon shifter that is her baby's father. However he doesn't want anything to with the child. The comander of the gifted and dragon shifters that defend the city. But he's afraid of losing those he loved so he doesn't let himself love. Will he overcome his fears and have a happy future or will he walk alone into the future?
I cried when they got married and when grandma Rose was introduced to the babies. I cried when grandma did not know who they were. I cried when one of the residents thought Jake was his great grandson and I was sad that we have a thing called Alzheimer's and that we can not remember family members. This may not be a review that you expect, but it was a very good book. A story that will stay with you for a while!
This was my first " dragon shifter" book . IT WAS SOOOOOO MUCH FUN TO READ !!!!!!! It is predominantly a romantic story ( with plenty of tastefully depicted x-rated sensuality) .The story revolves around a few well described and easy to follow battles between good and evil armies of dragons !!! The story is very well developed with interesting secondary characters. There is a fair amount of humor and plenty of heart-tugging drama . I enjoyed the " battle training " scenarios for the " Gifted" fighters who are all women with supernatural powers who assist the good dragons during battle . I borrowed this book with "kindleunlimited" ,but then I bought the book after I finished reading it . I definitely plan on rereading this story in the future !!
Interesting story premise of a world where a war with sorcerers known as angels has created Dragon shifters and "gifted" women who can either levitate objects or send lightening zaps from their palms. This story focuses on a latent gifted who gets pregnant after a surprising night of romance with a dragon shifter in human form. Not unsurprisingly, the gifted girl's new job assignment is in the defense wing commanded by the man who disappeared after their night of loving. Let the problems and twists begin. On the frustrating side is the persistent use of poor grammar by the author, particularly the use of incorrect verb tense and sometimes even the use of inappropriate verbs. This could have been a great book with good editing. The author has a gifted imagination and moves the action along well without TOO much use of explicit sex. If bad grammar doesn't interfere with your enjoyment of a story, give this author a try.
